Forschungsprojekt: Spatial examples and other decisions in pre-service teacher education
Projektleitung: Dr. Kathrin Viehrig
Projektzeitraum: September 2015 – ongoing
Kurzbeschrieb: This is an ongoing small educational design research study accompanying my teaching. Besides improving the local courses, the project aims at investigating decision-making processes in pre-service teacher education and their consequences, contributing to the empirical base for the theory (design principles) on pre-service geography teacher education.
The main foci since the autumn term 2015 has been the choice of spatial examples, including what criteria pre-service teacher students want to guide the decision for spatial examples for their courses, their interest in specific examples or regions and the consequences of these choices.
In the autumn term 2016, the survey included also the choice of topics, methods and modes of differentiation and was developed in different versions (history vs. geography) and carried out together with Dr. Gaby Sutter and Dr. Dominik Sauerländer, enabling among other things an initial comparison between geography and history pre-service teachers on these common topics (not the choice of spatial examples).
