Within the YCHANGE project, there will be a teacher professional development training in cooperation with the SUPSI.
When? October 8, 2018, 10:20-12:45
Where? SUPSI, Piazza San Francesco 19, CH-6600 Locarno
For whom? pre- and in-service secondary school teachers (grades 7-12)
Which language(s)? The main language of the training will be English. However, many of the materials are available in different languages (Italian, German, English, French).
Why? Satellite imagery is used in numerous areas both in society and in the job world. It can be used as a tool to study many different topics in the curriculum. How can satellite images be integrated into competence-oriented, differentiated lessons? In the hands-on course , we will look different ways to do that, e.g. true color vs. false color images, print-outs vs. Google Earth vs. BLIF, working with ready to use materials, doing mini-projects.
The training is part of the international project YCHANGE, in which partners from Switzerland, Germany, Estonia and Czechia collaborate. It’s funded by erasmus+ and movetia.
At which cost? The course is free for the participants.
How to sign up? Send an email to kathrin.viehrig(at)fhnw.ch till October 1, 2018.
